Welcome to the Mendocino County Soccer Academy! We are excited to offer two fantastic programs for Fall 2024: Grassroots Academy and Developmental Soccer League (DSL). These programs are designed to cater to children of various age groups and skill levels, providing high-quality soccer training and a fun, engaging environment.

Grassroots Academy (Kids born between 2017-2021)

Our Grassroots Academy ensures that every child’s first soccer experience is positive and memorable. Led by our professional coaching staff, the program focuses on teaching the basics while instilling a love for the beautiful game in a safe and fun environment. Grassroots is practice-only, allowing kids to learn without the pressure of games.

Fun and Engaging Sessions:

• Includes games like Lions on the Loose, Red Stop, Green Go, Ice Monsters, and more.
• Every child has a ball—no lines, no laps, just fun!

Fall Session Details:

• Duration: 10-week program from August 19th to October 27th
• Locations and Schedule:
  • Ukiah:
    • U6 (2019-2021): Tuesdays and Sundays, 4:30 – 5:15 PM
    • U8 (2017-2018): Tuesdays and Sundays, 5:20 – 6:20 PM
  • Willits:
    • U6 (2019-2021): Mondays and Wednesdays, 4:30 – 5:15 PM
    • U8 (2017-2018): Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:15 – 6:15 PM
  • Mendocino and Laytonville: Days and times TBD

Fall Program Costs:

• U6: $125
• U8: $135

Developmental Soccer League (DSL) (Kids born between 2009-2016)

MCSA’s DSL is a local fall league for 8 to 15-year-olds. The league features teams from Ukiah, Mendocino Coast, Willits, Laytonville, and Covelo. Teams practice in their hometowns during the week, with games on Saturdays rotating primarily between Ukiah and Willits.

Developmental Pathway: DSL is a crucial part of our developmental pathway, bridging the gap between Grassroots Academy and Select teams. It provides high-quality soccer training and competitive play while limiting travel.

Coaching Support: Volunteer coaches receive professional support and guidance from MCSA staff to effectively lead their teams.

Eligible Birth Years:

• U10: 2015-2016
• U12: 2013-2014
• U15: 2009-2012

Season Details:

• Start Date: Week of August 12th
• End Date: Late October
• Fee: $135
• Practice Schedule:
  • Ukiah: Mondays and Wednesdays, all age groups 5:30 – 7:00 PM
  • Willits:
    • U10 and U12: Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:15 – 6:25 PM
    • U15: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:25 – 7:35 PM
  • Mendocino and Laytonville: Days and times TBD

Uniforms:

• Returning Players: Use your existing uniforms.
• New Players: New uniforms can be purchased (approx $70) and will be available after registration.
